Clay is one of the primary staples of a detailer’s arsenal. A perfect paint finish can’t just look amazing; it needs to have amazing texture as well. Believe it or not, texture has a huge impact on the overall look and durability of a paints finish; clay is the key to that.

Clay rubs the paint finish by gently lifting bonded contaminants from the paint surface. Simple washing with products like Swissvax Car Bath can easily remove most contaminants from the paint surface, but for contaminants that are heavily bonded like tree sap, tar, fallout, acid rain, and rail dust, you need to rely on clay to get your paint texture back to its virgin state.

Liberally applying Swissvax Quick Finish to the surface, the clay is rubbed over the paint surface with moderate pressure. The areas that have been cleaned with the clay will be very obvious as you skim over them with the clay since they will have a drastically different texture and sound.
